Old Glendevey 2009

Kim Jordan and Jeff Lebesch searched long and thought hard before they decided to take on the stewardship of Old Glendevey Ranch. Their hesitance was rooted in a concern about the use natural resources in maintaining the property and the general use of construction resources on a second home.

Somehow, this crazy, cowboy, historic property whose name is on most of the maps of Colorado, grabbed them. The rest is an amalgamation of work and play for Kim, Jeff and their boys Zak and Nick. Many friends and their pals at Craftsmen Builders have been helpful too.

    

History

Old Glendevey Ranch has a long and rich history. The large historic lodge has been updated while still maintaining much of its heritage. This place inspires nostalgia for the Old West.

Directions

From Ft. Collins there are two ways to get to the ranch. The Poudre Canyon road is shorter, but slower, as it winds through the canyon. Both routes are picturesque and vary widely in terrain.

Via Laramie, WY:
• Drive west on I-80
• 1.7 miles west of Hwy 287, exit 311 onto Hwy 120/230 south-bound
• 0.8 mile, keep left onto Hwy 230
• 25 miles, turn left onto Hwy 10
• 10 miles, continue straight onto unpaved Colorado road 103
• 10.5 miles, turn RIGHT at 4-way intersection onto Colorado road 80C (Sign reads "Old Glendevey Lodge")
• 6.7 miles, arrive at Old Glendevey Ranch

Via Poudre Canyon: (Closed in winter months)
• Take Hwy 287 north from Fort Collins past Laporte, and continue to Hwy 14 • Travel west on Hwy 14 for 50 miles to the Laramie River Road
• Turn right and travel 15 miles to County Road 80C
• At the "Y" bear left and go 2.8 miles to Glendevey Ranch
